Revlon Lip Butters & Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain Comparison

I admit it....I am a drugstore makeup fiend! so when the Revlon Lip Butters line came out last year I stalked the drugstore displays at my local CVS and Walgreens until I had just about every color. I love them dearly and I tend to reach for them the most in my makeup bag.I looove the way they feel on my lips ,so buttery ,so smooth and the color payoff is great.
Then Revlon came out with their newest lip product, called Just Kissable balm stain.I also stalked the displays like a mad women until I had enough colors to satisfy my makeup cravings as I feverishly ripped the plastic of these pretty little plastic tubes and began applying them and I noticed a lot of the colors are quite similar to the lip butters.I love both these products, and I want to compare with you some of the most noticable matches. I will go Left to right in swatching the colors in the above pic....

Left swatch :L.B "Tutti Frutti"
Right Swatch: J.B.K.B.S "Rendevous"
Left Swatch:J.B.K.B.S "Charm"
Right Swatch:L.B "Creamsicle"
Left swatch:J.B.K.B.S "Sweetheart"
Right Swatch: L.B "Sweet Tart"

Left Swatch:L.B "Peach Parfait"
Right Swatch:J.B.K.B.S "Honey'

As you can see a lot of the colors are very similar to each other.Although the lip butters are a smoother, more buttery feel, the Kissables have way better staying power.Of all 4 Kissables I own,Sweetheart is the definate winner, as it did not budge for 5 hours and even when I woke up the NEXT morning my lips were still a slight tinge of hot pink. That color REALLY stays and stays.
They also look beautiful when combined which I have been doing the past week for extra sheen.
I will show you a couple colors alone and comined below....

Kissable "rendevous" alone

Lip Butter "Tutti Frutti" on top just a little bit more sheen

Kissable "honey"

Lip butter "peach parfait"

Salmon and Gold notebook inspired nails

Happy Friday! I wanted to share with you a pretty springy simple manicure...
I recently picked up a 3 pack of little notebooks from target awhile back because I thought they were oh so pretty,I especially loved the salmon colored one with the little gold foil polka dots.

After I stared at the pretty little notebook for weeks, I thought the colors would look good on my nails. I searched through my extensive stash of polish and found a couple colors which matched the pretty notebook perfectly.

Colors used..
Wet n Wild megalast nail polish in "Tropicalia"
Sally Hanson Diamond Strength Jewel overcoat in "Ring-a-ding"
Essie "good to go" topcoat

I used 2 coats of the pink, let it dry, then 1 coat of the gold sparkle polish.(just on my ring fingers)I found that if you used more than coat of the Sally Hanson sparkle polish it ended up to be a sticky gummy mess so less is definitely more.I finished it off with my beloved Essie top coat and it turned out a pretty pink sparkly delight!

wet n wild new megalast nail polish looks expensive, and acts it too!

Oh how I love nail polish! and when I saw these at the drugstore they caught my eye, because they look a little more expensive that the usual wet n wild packaging. The bottles are made of thicker glass, and have an attractive shape to them. I swooped up  up "I need a refresh-mint",a pretty minty color, and "disturbia" a deep purple color.

When I tried these out at home I was shocked at the wide brush, which pretty much covered my nail in one swipe, and the thick luxe consistency! No cheap watery polish here my friends. The minty green color dried with a pretty shiny look to it,(though it did take a while to dry)

I REALLY like these new polishes, and will be picking up more colors:).....

An easy way to help winter lips

This midwest winter has been so up and down, with the temperature and humidity constantly changing it has left my poor lippies so cracked and dry :(
                                                      Before: Rough,dry,pale and YUK

I remember reading this home remedy in a magazine years ago ,and thought I would give it a try.I tried other sugar scrubs and such on my lips before this one that didn't help much,in fact they kind of dried them out. This one only uses two items - Honey and a soft toothbrush....

 Directions-
Heat honey up to room temp or a little warmer, take a SOFT clean toothbrush and dip in honey, rub gently in a circular motion on your lips for 30 seconds, pat dry,and apply your favorite alcohol free lip balm or butter. That easy!

After:softer, more supple, full, and a pretty blush color

Another S.S.T.F (super sweet thrifty find)

On a trip to donate old clothing at a local thrift store, I came across these two items ..
A really nice pair of patent navy heels and an old crossbody butter soft cream leather bag
FOR a grand total of ...... $3.00!

The shoes remind me of a pair of shoes that are 700+ more dollars than these Oh how I lust the Laboutins..........
BUT I can not EVER justify spending that much money on myself

I can't tell you how much I LOVE thrift stores, once you get over the fact that it's other peoples used stuff (and I advise sanitizing the shoes before you put them on your feet friends;) ) you realize that you are recycling and other peoples junk is now your treasure.

Follow the 3 R's.....

Earlier last year I came across these 18 rules to live by by the Dalai Lama and I really loved them.I thoght they were perfect to post early in the new year, as this year I am really going to work hard on respecting myself every day, not talk to my self negativly, and appreciating the beautiful lovely people I have in my life every day......

1. Take into account that great love and great achievements involve great risk.
2. When you lose, don’t lose the lesson.
3. Follow the three Rs:
1. Respect for self
2. Respect for others
3. Responsibility for all your actions
4. Remember that not getting what you want is sometimes a wonderful stroke of luck.
5. Learn the rules so you know how to break them properly.
6. Don’t let a little dispute injure a great friendship.
7. When you realize you’ve made a mistake, take immediate steps to correct it.
8. Spend some time alone every day.
9. Open your arms to change, but don’t let go of your values.
10. Remember that silence is sometimes the best answer.
11. Live a good, honorable life. Then when you get older and think back, you’ll be able to enjoy it a second time.
12. A loving atmosphere in your home is the foundation for your life.
13. In disagreements with loved ones, deal only with the current situation. Don’t bring up the past.
14. Share your knowledge. It’s a way to achieve immortality.
15. Be gentle with the earth.
16. Once a year, go someplace you’ve never been before.
17. Remember that the best relationship is one in which your love for each other exceeds your need for each other.
18. Judge your success by what you had to give up in order to get it.
